Biography

Claire Patti-Chehade (formerly Claire Chehade-James) is a lyric coloratura soprano of Italian and Lebanese descent who has performed in Australia and Europe. She graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music majoring in Music Education and classical voice and made her operatic debut as Belinda and the Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas in Wiesbaden, Germany in 2012 and have since performed the roles of Saffi in The Gypsy Baron (Rockdale Opera Company), Adina in l’Elisir d’amore (Western Sydney Opera), Frasquita in Carmen (Penrith Symphony Orchestra) and Diana in Orpheus in the Underworld (Rockdale Opera Company) in Sydney, Australia. As a Sponsored Young Artist with Pacific Opera, she performed roles in opera scenes at the Sydney Opera House Utzon Room and The Opera Centre, Surry Hills as Gilda in Rigoletto, Servilia in La Clemenza di Tito and Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos. Claire also appeared on the television series Married at First Sight, singing a duet with tenor Lorenzo Rositano.
